WACO, TX — Fifth-ranked Baylor woke up promptly after Southern Miss took a first-quarter lead Monday, clamping down on the Golden Eagles with a balanced attack to advance to the Preseason WNIT semifinals.
The Lady Bears (2-0), which won by 42 points in their opening-round victory versus UT Arlington, will host South Florida on Thursday, Nov. 19 (tipoff at 8 p.m. ET), with the winner advancing to the championship game on Sunday, Nov. 22. That game will be televised by CBS Sports Network at 3 p.m. ET. Southern Miss (1-1) will play later this week in the consolation round against Indiana or Chattanooga - that game will be played Tuesday at Indiana.

Alexis Prince scored 16 points and added five rebounds for Baylor. Niya Johnson had 15 points and five rebounds; Kristy Wallace added 11 points and six assists. The Lady Bears shot better than 53 percent from the field and blocked 12 shots.
