Colorado (19-13), making its first back-to-back postseason appearance since four straight NCAA Tournament showings from 2001-04, jumped out early in the game. The Buffs had a balanced attack with Lexy Kresl and Brittany Wilson each scoring 10 points. Colorado will play Thursday’s South Dakota-Drake winner at a site and date to be announced Thursday night.
Wednesday’s game marked the first Postseason WNIT appearance for Northern Colorado (20-12). The Bears, who finished second in the Big Sky Conference and lost by just three points in their conference tournament final, were led by Lauren Oosdyke’s 15 points.
In Wednesday’s other game, Washington showed its offensive firepower with a 90-71 victory over visiting Cal Poly (17-15). Washington (18-13) has won five of its past seven games, and will take on Thursday’s Utah-Utah State winner at a site and date to be announced Thursday night. The Huskies had big nights from Regina Rogers (27 points, 14 rebounds), and Jazmine Davis (25 points, 7 assists).
Cal Poly, which won the Big West Conference title, was led by two-time Big West Player of the Year Kristina Santiago, who scored 28 points in her final collegiate game.
