Fort Collins, CO – Northern Colorado came back from a 10-point deficit midway through the second half to shock Colorado State and move to 21-12 on the season. The Bears will host South Dakota in Round 2 on Sunday, March 22 at 7 p.m. ET.
Lindsay Mallon hit a layup with 3:45 to go to give UNC a 48-46 lead, and she sank another short shot with 16 seconds left to seal the outcome. D'shara Strange had 14 points and 13 rebounds for the Bears – she also had 10 turnovers.
Colorado State (23-8) got 11 points from AJ Newton, but the team paid the price for shooting just 6-of-13 from the free-throw line.
Northern Colorado will host South Dakota in Round Two of the WNIT on Sunday, March 22 at 7 p.m. ET.

San Diego, CA – Sophia Ederaine scored 18 points and added 10 rebounds for San Diego, which held off Long Beach State’s final rally to move to a Round 2 matchup with UCLA or CSU Bakersfield.
The Torreros were up by a thin 57-55 margin with 1:02 to go after Alex Sanchez hit a 3-pointer for LBSU, but San Diego patiently worked the ball for two short jumpers to pull ahead for good. Hallie Meneses had 24 points and five assists for the 49ers (22-10).
