DALLAS – SMU had 25 turnovers and saw its offense go cold in the fourth quarter, but a large lead built through 30 minutes sent the Mustangs past Abilene Christian and into Round 3 of the Postseason WNIT.
SMU (23-9) will play at Indiana next; tipoff is 7 p.m. ET on Thursday, March 23.
Morgan Bolton scored 15 points for the Mustangs; McKenzie Adams added 12 points, and Kiara Perry had 11 points. SMU claimed a 45-33 edge in rebounding and held a 26-point lead at one juncture.
The Wildcats (23-9) got 20 points from Alexis Mason, and Suzzy Dimba added 11 points and six rebounds. Abilene Christian made 6 of its 36 3-pointers and had 15 steals.
