Kelsey Plum scored 21 points to become the all-time freshman leading scorer in Pac-12 history as her Washington Huskies edged out San Diego 62-55 in Seattle.
Plum has scored 701 points this season and also owns the school’s single-season scoring record. Teammate Aminah Williams grabbed 17 rebounds to lead Washington into the Round of 8. The Huskies (20-13) will play the Colorado at UTEP winner, which takes place Friday, in the next round at a date and location to be announced upon Friday’s conclusion.
San Diego (24-9) concluded its extended postseason run after a back-and-forth battle Wednesday with Washington. Amy Kane (20 points) and Felicia Wijenberg (11 points, 14 rebounds) were team leaders.
