Tamara Moore led the Badgers (21-12) with 25 points and was named tournament MVP. Teammate LaTonya Sims also earned all-tournament honors, and was joined on the team by Florida's Naomi Mobley and Tonya Washington; as well as Angie Gorton of Colorado State; and Lonniya Bragg of Arkansas.
Wisconsin, which played all five games at home, including the final in front of 6,138 fans, had four different players lead the team in scoring throughout the tournament. The Badgers made 52 percent of their field goals against Florida (21-13).
Wisconsin, which was the Postseason runner-up last year to Arkansas, went 5-0 this year. The Badgers defeated Fairfield, DePaul, Michigan State, Colorado State, and Florida on their way to the title.
