Wyoming (21-11) got a huge boost from Emma Langford, who scored 29 points and added seven rebounds and three assists for the Cowgirls, who drew 4,559 fans to the game. Wyoming will next host BYU at 9 p.m. ET Thursday, March 25.
Texas Tech (18-15), which features 10 freshmen and sophomores, was led by Chynna Brown, who scored 12 points and had four rebounds.
In other games Tuesday night, BYU (22-9) defeated Arizona State (18-14) 61-53. The Cougars advance to Round 3 to play Wyoming.
Cal started strong and then had to hold off a Utah second-half blitz as the Golden Bears defeated Utah 64-54. Alexis Gray-Lawson, who sat out Cal’s opening-round WNIT game with a concussion, was back and chipped in 18 points and five rebounds. Cal will play at Oregon starting at 10 p.m. ET Thursday, March 25.
Oregon (18-11) opened up a close game with New Mexico (19-13) in the second half, coming out on top 93-67. It’s the second straight game that the Ducks have scored more than 90 points.
