Creighton, Texas State, Evansville rally for
victories in first round of WNIT
 
Thursday, March 20, 2008 – Three teams came back from deficits in dramatic fashion to win their opening Postseason WNIT games.

Evansville rallied from 19 points down to edge Southeast Missouri State 60-58. Evansville (21-11) used a 24-4 run in the second half and now plays Monday night at Kansas.

Texas State dug out of a 16-point hole to beat Prairie View A&M with the winning basket in the final few seconds. The 84-83 victory earns Texas State (21-10) a trip to Lubbock, where they will play Texas Tech at 7 p.m. CT Saturday.

Creighton came back from a seven-point deficit at halftime to defeat host South Dakota State 76-69 in front of 4,699 fans.

The Blue Jays (21-11) were down 34-27 at halftime before rallying for the win that propels them into a second-round matchup at Marquette at 7 p.m. CT on Monday.

Other results Thursday had Southern Miss, Bowling Green, James Madison, Vermont, and Boise State moving on, thanks to home victories.

Southern Miss (20-13) defeated Arkansas-Little Rock 67-57, and will host Mississippi State at 7 p.m. CT Monday.

Bowling Green defeated Dayton 64-52 to improve to 26-7 for the season. They will play at Michigan State at 2 p.m. ET Saturday.

James Madison (23-9) continued its season with an 80-58 victory over Radford. JMU will play at Indiana for a second-round matchup beginning at 7 p.m. ET Saturday.

Vermont (24-8) took care of Dartmouth 69-50 to move on for a 7 p.m. ET Monday matchup at Boston College.

Boise State (24-6) defeated Idaho State 77-54. In the night's final game, UC Davis (19-11) is at Gonzaga (24-8) at 10 pm ET.
