Ohio State kicks off Preseason WNIT with win over Eastern Illinois |

November 13, 2009 – Ohio State began its march to an NCAA title with a victory Friday over Eastern Illinois in the first round of the Preseason Women’s National Invitation Tournament.
Ohio State defeated visiting Eastern Illinois 91-68 to advance to the second round. The No. 3 Buckeyes will host Bowling Green at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15. Bowling Green advanced with a 76-41 victory over Chicago State.
In other first-round games Friday, West Virginia handed visiting Towson a 79-42 loss. West Virginia advances to host a Round 2 game against Marist on Monday. Marist downed North Carolina A&T 80-64 to start off its season.
Florida Gulf Coast defeated UTEP 66-54 and will play at New Mexico at 4 p.m. ET Sunday. New Mexico defeated Northern Colorado 81-59 on Friday night.
Oklahoma State edged Arkansas-Little Rock 67-58 and will host Georgia Tech at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday. Georgia Tech downed Winthrop 63-30 in the first round Friday.
Consolation round games will be announced Saturday for all teams that lost Friday in Round 1.
