The prestigious event features four teams ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 poll: 2006 National Champion Maryland (4); 2007 Final Four team LSU (5); Michigan State (17); and Notre Dame (24). TCU and Western Kentucky, which both received votes, also are playing. Those six teams, along with Delaware and Evansville, will each host first-round games tonight in the Preseason WNIT. The winners advance to second-round games to be played Sunday, Monday or Tuesday, and the losers will play Nov. 16-17 in consolation games. For the first time in the WNIT’s 14-year history, all teams are guaranteed to play three games, with the championship teams playing four.
