The competition and energy that fuels NCAA women’s basketball is on full display, and that means preparations are well underway for the 2019 Postseason WNIT, which is celebrating its 22nd year.
The 64-team field will be announced late Monday evening, March 18, 2019. The first round will kick off Wednesday, March 20, with the event culminating on Saturday, April 6 -- the championship game will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
In the 2018 Postseason WNIT title game, Indiana topped Virginia Tech, 65-57, in front of 13,007 fans at Assembly Hall in Bloomington. It was the largest crowd to ever watch a women’s basketball game in Indiana.
The 2017 title game was another thrilling moment for the Postseason WNIT, as Michigan needed three overtimes to work past Georgia Tech, 89-79.
