HOUSTON 74, MILWAUKEE 59
New Orleans, LA – Milwaukee led nearly the entire game against Houston on Friday night, but it was the Cougars who strung together a 31-point fourth quarter to take victory over the Panthers, 74-59.
Jenny Linder and Steph Kostowicz led the way for Milwaukee, each scoring in double figures with 10 and 11 points, respectively. The Panthers also out rebounded the Cougars 43-32 in the contest, but committed 39 turnovers, most of which in the fourth quarter, leading to the Houston comeback.
Houston was led by Angela Harris who finished with a game-high 22 points, six rebounds and three assists. Dorian Branch was equally as stellar, totaling 18 points, three rebounds and three assists. It was the stingy defensive pressure that led to Milwaukee's turnovers, and Houston capitalized by turning them into 31 fastbreak points.
Houston will play the winner of New Orleans and CSUN, while Milwaukee will await the loser of the matchup between the Privateers and the Matadors.
