PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Drexel Dragons advance to Round Two of the Postseason WNIT with a 57-44 victory over Robert Morris.
Three Drexel players scored in double figures with Bailey Greenberg scoring a team-high 14 points. Hannah Nihill and Kelsi Lidge each added 10 points.
Megan Smith netted nine points for the Colonials who shot only 14 percent from behind the arc and tallied 22 turnovers.
The Dragons used a 12-2 run before halftime to take a 33-17 lead heading to the locker room. Drexel would carry that momentum in to the third outscoring the Colonials 11-3 in the first five minutes of the quarter to take a 44-20 lead.
For the ninth time in the last 10 seasons, the Drexel women's basketball team has advanced to postseason play. Drexel, which won the WNIT in 2013, secured its second consecutive first-round WNIT victory with the win over Robert Morris.
Drexel will host Fordham in Round Two of the WNIT on Sunday, March 18 at 4 p.m. ET.
