LOUISVILLE 90, TOLEDO 55
Louisville, KY – The painted area proved profitable for the Cardinals on Tuesday night. Louisville outscored Toledo 44-20 down low and tallied 27 bench points to claim victory, 90-55. The Cardinals will face Michigan in the semifinals in a matchup slated for Thursday, November 16, at the KFC Yum! Center at 7 p.m. ET. Not only did Louisville get a nice lift from its bench and Myisha Hines-Allen (17 points) but headliners Jazmine Jones and Asia Durr also contributed in similar fashion. Jones had the game's only double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Durr came in with a cool 14 points to go along with four rebounds and four assists. Jay-Ann Bravo-Harriott gave head Toledo coach Tricia Cullop 16 important points as did Mariella Santucci (13 points) and Kaayla McIntyre (14 points). Ultimately, the difference in bench scoring combined with Toledo's eight second chance points compared to Louisville's 25 led to the defeat. Toledo will play in the Consolation Rounds hosting Louisiana on Saturday, November 18, at 2 p.m. ET. |
