MANHATTAN, KS – Peyton Williams rang up 24 points for Kansas State, and Kayla Goth was right there with 23 points as the Wildcats eased past Utah in Round 2 of the 20128 Postseason WNIT.
Williams was 10-of-14 from the field; Goth, who is one of nine players in D-I to top 500 points and 200 assists this season, hit eight of her 11 attempts.
Kansas State (18-15) scored the first nine points of the second quarter and took a double-digit lead into halftime. But the Utes responded with a 3-pointer by Megan Huff and another bomb from Tori Williams, the latter which drew Utah within 41-38 with 4:03 left in the third quarter.
The Wildcats went on an 11-2 run to end the quarter and never let Utah get back within 10 points. They will host UC Davis in Round 3.
Utah (18-14) was led by Huff, who finished with 23 points and nine rebounds.
