OREGON 83, TEXAS A&M 68
College Station, TX – Ruthy Hebard hit all 10 of her field goal attempts shots and was the steadiest offensive force with 24 points for the Ducks, who came back from a six-point deficit at halftime to slip past Texas A&M and earn a spot in the Preseason WNIT championship game.
Oregon (3-0) will play at Louisville (3-0) on Sunday, Nov. 19. The game will tip off at 3 p.m. ET and be broadcast by CBS Sports Network. The Cardinals won their semifinal against Michigan, 74-59.
Outside of Hebard, a sophomore, the Ducks were chilly on offense, but their defense measured up just fine in holding the Aggies (2-1) to just 36.5 percent shooting from the field. Oregon outscored Texas A&M by 14 points (29-15) in the third quarter, getting useful production as well from sophomore Sabrina Ionescu, who had her second triple double of the event with 16 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. The Aggies put together an 8-0 run to close their deficit to 67-62 with 3:27 to go, but Oregon responded with eight straight points to quell any concerns about a rally.
Hebard also had eight rebounds; Lexi Bando hit three 3-pointers and finished with 10 points, and junior guard Maite Cazorla also had 10 points.
Texas A&M was led by freshman Chennedy Carter, who closed with 23 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Danni Williams had 17 points but was just 7-for-24 from the field.
