Louisville, KY – No. 24 Michigan came out firing on all cylinders at the KFC Yum! Center against the No. 5 Louisville Cardinals. It was the second half performance from the Cardinals, however, outscoring the Wolverines 42-12 that catapulted them into the Preseason WNIT Championship with the 74-49 victory.
Katelynn Flaherty started the contest 5-5 from three-point range and tallied 17 early first-half points. Flaherty's performance along with stout perimeter defense that held Louisville to 1-10 from deep gave Michigan the lead at the half, 37-32.
Out of the break, it was all Louisville.
Myisha Hines-Allen could not be stopped, finishing with a team-high 19 points, eight rebounds and three assists. By the end of the game, Louisville had forced 23 Michigan turnovers and converted them into 24 points. Asia Durr also finished in double figures with 13 points.
The Cardinals will advance to the Preseason WNIT Championship, slated for Sunday, November 19. They'll await the winner of Oregon and Texas A&M.
