Sunday, March 29, 2009 – South Florida, Illinois State, and Boston College earned spots in the semifinal round of the Postseason Women's National Invitation Tournament on Sunday.
South Florida defeated host St. Bonaventure 80-66 in the quarterfinal round. South Florida (25-10) gained control late in the second half to oust the Bonnies (23-11), who were supported by a record crowd of more than 4,000 fans.
Illinois State (27-7) also won its quarterfinal game with a 66-55 victory over visiting Indiana (21-11). Illinois State, playing in front of more than 3,400 fans, will take on the Kansas at New Mexico winner. That game will be played Monday night.
Boston College (23-11) defeated Georgetown (20-14) 65-56 and will host South Florida in a semifinal at 7 p.m. ET Wednesday, April 1.
