Sunday, March 23, 2008 – TCU ensured its eighth straight postseason run would continue Sunday afternoon, as it defeated visiting Boise State 85-56 in the second round of the Postseason WNIT.
TCU (22-11) advances to play at Texas Tech. That third-round game will be at 7 p.m. CT Wednesday in Lubbock.
TCU’s Lori Butler-Rayford earned a double-double, and joined the 1,000 point club with her 21-point, 13-rebound effort. Teammate Adrianne Ross added 24 points and four steals for the Lady Frogs.
Boise State, which beat Idaho State in the first round to advance to play TCU, which had a first-round bye, finishes its season with a 24-8 record. Tasha Harris led all scorers with 25 points, and added five rebounds for the Boise State cause.
Six teams have advanced to the third round of the Postseason WNIT: James Madison, Kentucky, Michigan State, TCU, Texas Tech, and Villanova. The remaining 10 spots will be filled after the conclusion of second-round games Monday night.
